ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Sam.
I found yoga in 2005 after years of feeling like traditional fitness just wasn’t for me. I’d picked up various injuries over time, but yoga offered something different — a way to build strength and flexibility while treating my body with respect.

When my son was born in 2013, my practice took a back seat. Like many new mums, I was tired, stretched thin, and doing everything for everyone else. When I eventually returned to my mat, I felt like myself again. It reminded me how much I’d missed having that space to breathe, move, and reconnect.

In 2018 I completed my 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. I almost didn’t — I worried I wasn’t “good enough,” that my injuries would hold me back, and that I was too shy to teach. But I showed up anyway. Since then I’ve continued studying, with additional training in Yin Yoga, yoga nidra, menopause awareness, and somatic movement. I’m still learning, and I imagine I always will be.

My own practice has shifted a lot over the years. I’ve learned to listen to my body and respond to what it genuinely needs that day — and that’s something I encourage in all my students.

My classes are gentle, friendly, and inclusive. I use props to make poses accessible for every body, and I like to create a calm, supportive atmosphere (often with a relaxing soundtrack in the background).

Life can be demanding. Yoga offers a way to come home to yourself — to restore, rebalance, and reset. My hope is that you leave class feeling nourished, steady, and a little more at ease.

Warmly,
Sam
