FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’M A COMPLETE BEGINNER — IS THIS SUITABLE FOR ME?

Yes, absolutely. My classes are suitable for beginners, offering gentle movement, breath awareness, and plenty of options. You’re welcome just as you are.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

If you have your own yoga mat, please bring it along. I can lend you a mat if needed — just let me know in advance. Some people also bring a blanket or cushion for extra comfort during relaxation. Props like blocks and straps are provided, but you’re very welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Most importantly, just bring yourself and an open mind.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in easily — leggings, joggers, or anything soft and stretchy. Layers are great so you can stay warm during relaxation.

I’M NOT FLEXIBLE — CAN I STILL DO YOGA?

Yes! Flexibility is not a requirement; it’s something that may develop over time. Yoga meets you where you are, and many poses can be adapted to suit your body.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY OR HEALTH CONDITION?

If you’re coming to your first class, please contact me beforehand so I can offer any necessary modifications and ensure the practice is safe and supportive for you. Whilst yoga can be safely enjoyed by most people, certain health conditions may require special attention. If you’re unsure whether yoga is suitable for you, please consult your GP before attending.

All new students are asked to complete a short health questionnaire before their first session — you can find it here.

CAN I BOOK A PRIVATE CLASS?

Yes, I offer 1:2:1 sessions tailored to your needs — whether you're new to yoga, managing an injury, or simply prefer a quieter space. Just get in touch to arrange a free no obligation chat to discuss how I can support your needs.

WHAT IS HATHA YOGA?

Hatha yoga is the foundation of most modern yoga. A steady, balanced practice combining postures, breath, and mindfulness. Great for beginners and anyone wanting a well-rounded experience.

CAN YOGA HELP WITH STRESS OR ANXIETY?

Yes. Breathwork, gentle movement, and mindfulness in yoga can calm the nervous system and support emotional wellbeing. Many students find it helps them feel more grounded and peaceful.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Your first class is offered at a discounted rate of £9 so you can try it out. After that, you can keep the rate at £9 per class by booking a block for the term. Drop-in classes are £12. All options are flexible — just choose what suits you best.
